Charlie Martin is a racing driver and LGBTQ+ activist.

Charlie started in motorsport after university with £1,500 savings from a summer job and a can-do attitude. Her path to professional racer has been a journey into the unknown without any family history of competing in a male dominated sport. In 2020 she made history as the first ever transgender driver to compete in the legendary Nürburgring 24hr race. She has overcome huge adversity to succeed as her true self.

Charlie works with charities like Stonewall to increase the visibility and acceptance of LGBTQ+ people in sport and beyond. She featured in British Vogue Magazine’s ‘Vogue 25’, a celebration of inspiring women shaping the world and is a BMW ‘Friend of the Brand’.  Ongoing brand collaborations as both a motivational speak and content creator include Chanel, Google, Proctor & Gamble, eBay, Adidas and Microsoft. Outside of motorsport, she is a keen trail runner, surfer and snowboarder. An adventure sports lover, she is also a Ninja Warrior UK semi-finalist.
